After plans of going to Singapore and Sweden stranded (I could not be accepted to the Universities because they weren’t accepting any students from the TU/e for this semester, and because I tried to enroll too late), I started looking for something else. During my search for an alternative I was given some …

First rule you should follow is to leave (always) for a while the place were you are.

It has a great international reputation in technology and research, especially logistics-wise. Furthermore Eindhoven generated and is home to several multinational companies, such as Philips and ASML.
The quality of the studies is great, especially due to the high staff/student ratio. Good mentoring is …

I am writing this article from my desk here in Switzerland, having successfully graduated a short while ago and working now in my first management position with good prospects for further promotion.

The accommodation that was provided to me by studentenwerk was everything you could expect for €190,- per month. It was about 16m2 and had its own sink, a desk, closet and a bed. Showers were to be shared with fellow students. The room was located in a “Wohnheim” which is a dormitory. The Wohnheim was divided …

At Sixth Form I decided that Maths was the subject for me to study at university, but I didn’t want to lose my languages. I decided to choose courses with a year abroad so that I could continue my language learning. It also allowed me to go straight to university, and take a gap year during my studies, …

Politechnika Warszawska is the best university in Poland, so it looks well on a CV. There is a great library but it's hard to connect to internet with our own laptop. But there is no so beautiful landscapes in Poland than in Norway or Sweden, for example. The city is banal but the culture is ... different.

The culture in Berlin is similar as the Dutch Culture. People in Berlin and Germany are compared to Dutch standards more modest and reserved. But since I was located in a dormitory most people I encountered were foreign. Foreign students in my dormitory were mainly from Europe and Asia. For each dormitory …

    • Plus of course all the bars, restaurants and night clubs that you would expect in a big city.
