Luleå is the northernmost technical university in Europe, really close to the polar-circle. During my autum-semester here I was able to watch the aurora several times, and it is pure beauty :). A trip across the polarcircle by train is very cheap and wont take long, so you can experience 24h of darkness or …

For my stay I focused on ICT courses to augment my previous education and architecture courses at TU/e and get me in the direction of Smart Homes. I picked a total of 5 courses, excluding the language course. All courses are 6 ECTS credits

Lund is a small, beautiful and cozy city with a lot of students. You will meet a lot of people in university and during the nation activities and because Lund is so small, you’ll run into them all the time. There’s no better feeling than walking around your new hometown and running into your new friends. …

My experiences are that there is a lot that has to be arranged and, especially in a different country, culture and language, this is often rather difficult. You spend a lot of time on administrative and related work, that could have been spend on studying or other things. The schedule is extremely busy, with …

First off, Sweden is indeed a pretty expensive country, so getting as much money free per month was handy. I subletted my room in Eindhoven, including furnishings for a small price over my normal rent, which allowed me to cover my room rent in Sweden, which was SEK 2300,- (About EUR 230,-). Turning in my …

Compared to the courses in Eindhoven, courses in Chalmers demand relatively little work in my experience. (but this of course also depends on the nature of the courses you choose)
Travelling is not that expensive if you book well ahead. Train tickets should be booked at least a month in advance, then you can …

Erasmus. Which words should I use to describe the feeling. Is it a feeling of happiness and appreciation of what I had the chance to experience in Karlskrona and general in Sweden? Is it a feeling of melancholy that I returned home to my “old way of living”? One thing is sure although.. Nothing is the same from now on!

Erasmus may take some things away for a little bit like family, friends, relationships, courses… But all these cannot be compared with the things that erasmus creates. New strong friendships, experiences of leaving aboard, and for many like me, experiences of leaving alone and take care yourself.

Erasmus gives you also something more important. When all this dream goes away, you will end up with a home all over the world. You book from now still, airplane tickets to visit your new friends in France, Germany, Austria, Spain even in China. The world is big. And you have just started the exploring. Your …

The dormitory is excellent, and cheap (90-120 Euros/Month). You can also rent a flat or share one in the city center for about 120-200 Euros per month. Courses in Finance are serious, you can also start to learn Lithuanian and Russian. Library is rich and diversified, teachers are very close to the students …
