Erasmus is not only about studying. In fact, it's mainly about exploring: exploring a foreign country, a different culture. And meeting amazing people. Thanks to Erasmus now I have friends all over the world. Also, Erasmus has shown me that it's easy to travel around Europe nowadays!

It always makes me smile when I think about all the possibilities that Erasmus exchange gave me. During one semester in Finland I met more foreign people than for my whole life so far, and among those foreigners was my lovely boyfriend with whom I plan to live my life.

I have never been to Scandynavia before and wanted to experience life there. To ride a bike the strong winter, when it is snowing lots on you and your nose is frozen. I wanted to learn more about Finnish society, culture and lifestyle, and simply to live among Finns.

Previous Erasmus students from Joensuu told me that university level was very high which persuaded me even more to go there. In fact, everything was great from the very beginning. There was orientation week, when we could meet other Erasmus students, find out about the system of the university and also meet …

Univerity of Joensuu is located in Eastern Finland, which is known for its beauty within the lake district. The university has excellent professors and is competitive in a relaxed environment with only a few good distractions. Student life was fun at parties that at times invited professors, which allowed for …

I wanted to go abroad to get a new view of my subject. I choose Joensuu because that was the one of two options in my favorite country Finland. The second option would have been the capital and that's not the best choice if you want to get to know the country - in addition I had heard a lot of good things …

I've been in Finland before but as a tourist. So I decided that I want to get to know this country more. Like I've been living there. Plus I wanted to experience something new. I wanted to make new friends and just try how it is to study in English. All my experience was just positive. I wish I could do …

The dormitory is excellent, and cheap (90-120 Euros/Month). You can also rent a flat or share one in the city center for about 120-200 Euros per month. Courses in Finance are serious, you can also start to learn Lithuanian and Russian. Library is rich and diversified, teachers are very close to the students …
