BELONGING TO A THIRD COHORT BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING DEGREE CLASS

Being awarded a scholarship for a bachelors science degree in biomedical engineering at Makerere UNIVERSITY, one of the prestigious and top universities on the African continent was a dream come true. However, this was not that obvious for i could end up having missed a life opportunity after my name being shortlisted for a bachelor of science in Environmental Science in the June 2013 local newspaper that provided the list of government sponsored students, this was a life disappointment! A time when i felt that i had done all my best to produce the high school grades needed for my dream course. I do not want to mean that this was a bad course for me, but it is all about what i considered my calling. There is always a second chance in life, and indeed the only chance came and i was granted chance to change to the program of my choice while retaining my scholarship, this is so rare a case. Throughout my academic life, i always worked hard to achieve my dream career "research and innovation" and God has granted me the most favors to innovate, compete and present on both local and international grounds including but not limited to the OXFID FORUM in the UK, UITP innovation competitions in Canada and UNECA competitions in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Have also visited and engaged with students in research from world class universities like Oxford University. This was all possible because i offered wanted i loved and treated this as a calling from God. IN LIFE WE MUST DO WHAT WE LOVE!
